Salford Red Devils have confirmed that Shane Wright has completed a loan move to St Helens for the rest of 2025.
The back-rower joined the Salford Red Devils from the NRL outfit, North Queensland Cowboys, ahead of the 2022 season and has become a consistent performer for Paul Rowley’s side ever since.
Playing 61 appearances across his four-year stay, scoring eight tries and earning mass plaudits for his often unseen work.
In his first season at the Red Devils, Wright was a big part of the club’s successful run to the playoff semi-final – where the club narrowly avoided defeat.
And his formed continued into seasons 2023 and 2024, proving a real try threat for the Reds with his intelligent running and athletic ability.
But his form sadly has halted, when he picked up a bicep injury has kept the 29-year-old on the sidelines for the majority of the 2025 season.
And despite he has still made 10 appearances in the side prior to that setback – but will now join St Helens until the end of the campaign.
Following his departure Shane Wright said: “Thank you to the Salford Red Devils for the opportunity to represent the club.
“The fans and community have been phenomenal across my time here, and I am very appreciative of the support that has been given.
He continued: “I’ve been privileged to work alongside so many great people over the past four seasons within the club. Lots of great memories and friendships were made along the way that I will cherish.
“Good luck to the club and everyone involved moving forward.”
