A garage and drum and bass rave featuring Salford DJs is coming to a venue in the city.
MannyFest is bringing an 11-hour garage and drum and bass rave to Concept Haus in Salford, accompanied by local DJ talents Shadev and JMAD.
Concept Haus, in Cobden Street, is set to be the second venue to host MannyFest after the event had its launch party in the Manchester club Amber’s in early September.
MannyFest prides itself on supporting local talent. Organiser Dave Potter said the event is always looking for new talent – in Salford and anywhere.
He said: “The local acts Shadev and J-Mad that are from the Salford area, we’re trying to support and get them up.”
Shadev has previously played in the depot at the warehouse project and at Manchester festival Parklife.
Other renowned dance artists such as I Manu, Frazer Ray and Mixtress are also playing at MannyFest.
The appeal of the 1,000-capacity brick warehouse is that MannyFest can put its own mark on the venue and bring in some big sound systems.
He said: “Because Salford is not as built up as the city centre, you can get away with better sound systems. You’ve got more funky warehouses. It’s got more industrial feel to it, so for the rave scene, it’s a perfect place.”
Concept Haus in Salford hosts many warehouse raves, bringing the dance music scene out of the centre of Manchester.
He said: “It’s not too far away from the city centre. It’s easy to travel to, and Salford has got some decent underground venues, including Concept Haus.
“We have got a few future events lined up for Salford, Manchester and Trafford. MannyFest is all about putting shows on in the greater Manchester area, which Salford is a big part of.”
MannyFest will take place on Saturday November 29 from 5pm till 4am.
