A man has been charged in connection with a shooting which took place on a Salford street.
At around 8.16pm on Sunday, 1 February, officers were called to reports that a firearm had been discharged on St Joseph’s Drive in Ordsall.
Police were deployed to a house and, after a “prolonged stand-off,” safely detained a 36-year-old man.
Adam Wass has now been charged with multiple firearms offences under the Firearms Act 1968 and is scheduled to appear at Manchester and Salford Magistrates’ Court today, Thursday 5 February 2026.
Wass, of no fixed abode, has been charged with possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, possession of a firearm with intent to commit an indictable offence and possession of a firearm with intent to commit an indictable offence.
Following the shooting, Greater Manchester Detective Superintendent Simon Moyles, said: “The use of firearms and acts of intimidation have absolutely no place in Greater Manchester, and we will not tolerate them.”
