With St. Patrick’s Day fast approaching, various venues around Salford are preparing their Guinness glasses for a week of festivities.
Starting this week, the annual celebrations for St Patrick’s Day on March 17 are back in motion with better craic than ever. Here are seven places you can get stuck in.
For lovers of live music, The Salmon of Knowledge in MediaCity is hosting an entry-free St Patrick’s Day Festival 2026 in the Gardens, running a week-long programme from March 12-17.

The event will feature folk, roots and contemporary performers, with exciting headliners such as Honey I Shrunk The Band, Rob Jones, and John McKinnie. There will be many more artists, some yet to be announced.
Coal & Cotton in Boothstown, Worsley, start their celebrations on March 13 and 14 ensuring the day is packed with entertainment for sports fanatics or those wanting a dance.

Their lively pub atmosphere is guaranteed to kick things off, as from 2 pm, the Ireland v Scotland Six Nations game will be live in the garden. Following the game, the party continues with a live performance from the Velvet Trinkets and Irish food and drink specials.
Celebrating their first St Patrick’s Day, The Showboat in Pendlebury are putting on Shake Your Shamrocks!, serving what they say is the ‘best Guinness in town’ on Tuesday at 7pm. Providing a full day of fun and beer, you can pick a stick for £1 for a chance to win a shot of baby Guinness or a pint of your choice.
Their celebrations continue on the 20th, putting on karaoke from 7:30pm with a free buffet and a raffle giving you the chance to find ‘the pot of gold’ that wins you a beer or a bottle of Jim Beam.
All profit will go towards the Salford Survivors Project, a campaign raising awareness of domestic abuse.
The Cricketers Arms in Swinton will be upholding their friendly atmosphere from 4pm with their ‘dodgy dancing’ and ‘lots of decorations’, offering Irish music, karaoke, a quiz, and ‘Patrick’s Day Bingo’.

Turtle Bay on The Quays are celebrating St Patrick’s Day with an all-inclusive Sip & Paint from 7-9:30pm. The event is for people of all abilities, and whether you are on your own, wanting to relax or with friends, they welcome all with open arms with games, prizes, and two free drinks included in your ticket. Located on Chapel Street, The Black Lion Hotel and Bar have made sure their bar is fully stocked for St Patrick’s Day, with live sports and its steak and ale pie being served all day on Tuesday.
On March 15, the John Alker Club in Flixton, Urmston, is bringing Mother’s Day and St Patrick’s Day together for something for all the family to enjoy. Doors open at 3pm as the perfect opportunity to bring any mother figure in your life along for a singsong and well-earned drink together.
