This weekend Salfordians can look forward to two nights of free fireworks and entertainment in the city thanks to the funding of local schools and community organisations.

Locals can choose between Buile Hill Park on Saturday October 31 or Prince’s Park in Irlam on Sunday November 1. Both events start from 4pm and families can choose the right event for themselves.

At Buile Hill Park, there will be three firework displays to suit all ages. From the quieter Little Sparks show for younger children to the louder Firecracker display and the big finale main show.

Residents can also look forward to a funfair, food and drink stalls, marshmallow toasting and the popular fire walk.

There will be no bonfire at Buile Hill Park due to the council’s decision to reduce their carbon footprint.

If the Saturday event is for you then you can book your parking here.

However, Prince’s Park in Irlam will be hosting a traditional bonfire as part of their event, along with a funfair, food and drink and a firework display.

The council are urging the community to attend one of these organised events rather than personal fireworks in gardens.

Bonfire Night can be difficult for pets and armed forces veterans as a number of reactions can be caused by hearing, seeing and smelling fire and fireworks.
