A charity bungee jump is set to take place at Salford Quays in March next year to aid cancer charity The Christie.
Participants will be dropping from 160 foot supported only by a harness and bungee rope but will be able to briefly enjoy panoramic views of Salford and Manchester as they leap on Sunday March 24.

Sporting events officer Josh Hughes is expecting a large turnout. He said: “I can’t disclose how many places have been taken at this moment, however we are aiming to fill 70 places on the day.
“Last year we raised around £21,000 through the bungee jump and we are hoping to better that this year.”
The event will take place next to the Helly Hansen Watersports centre.
The event runs from 10am-3pm outside the Helly Hansen watersports centre.
Mr Hughes said: “The day is expected to be a fantastic day out, where people get to experience an incredible, thrill-seeking activity whilst fundraising for a fantastic cause. It is a great opportunity to do something amazing for charity. I would encourage anyone reading to get involved.
“There won’t be any other activities on the day, however there will be a charity tent where participants can relax in before and after, receive their medals and get their photos taken.”
The Christie helps to support cancer victims, and the Manchester hospital contains the largest chemotherapy unit in the UK. It works closely with Cancer Research UK and has its own team of people trying to quell one of the UK’s largest causes of premature death.

Participants must be at least 14 years old, and participants between 14 and 16 must have a parent or guardian’s permission and be accompanied by a parent/guardian on the day. There is a registration fee of £10 and participants are asked raise a minimum of £150 for The Christie charity.
