BOLTON cricketer Matt Parkinson has recently been awarded the young player of the year for Lancashire County Cricket after a brilliant second season with the team.
The 20 year old capped off the season with an impressive 14 wickets in the T20 Blast and 14 wickets in 14 wickets in the County championship.

Matt exclusively told Quays News “I’m proud to win the award. It was a great way to end what has been a really enjoyable season and one that I hope to build on and hopefully contribute to Lancashire’s future success.”
This award is well deserved for the promising prospect who has been turning heads since signing a professional contract with Lancashire back in 2015. During his debut in a draw against Warwickshire, Matt became only the second English leg spinner to take five wickets on debut since 1945.
On top of this Matt has also been selected for an oversees placement in Sydney which will see him join the highly respected Gordon cricket club. In addition to this, the spinner will also train with the New South Wales State Squad which will only improve his overall game further.
