Man, 32, dies in hit and run after 'falling into the road during medical episode' at a bus stop

Police have appealed for witnesses and information after a 32-year-old man died after being hit by a vehicle on Worsley Road North in Walkden.

Greater Manchester Police believe the pedestrian was stood at a bus stop and may have suffered a medical episode that caused him to fall onto the carriageway, before being struck by a car that failed to stop.

Emergency services were called to a report of a collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian on Worsley Road North just before 10.30pm on Wednesday 20 July 2022. The pedestrian died.

Following the collision the driver of the vehicle failed to stop and continued northbound on Worsley Road in the direction of Bolton.

PC Horner of GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “Our thoughts are very much with the man’s family who are understandably devastated by the tragic event that occurred on Wednesday 20 July.

“We have launched an investigation into the circumstances of this incident and are appealing to anyone with information or dashcam and CCTV footage of the incident to contact officers in the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 0161 856 4741 quoting log 3710 20/07/2022
