Plans to build 200 new homes on a car park between Regent Road and Chapel Street have been announced.

The scheme will see land bound by Upper Wharf Street, Oldfield Road and the railway line be turned into 204 new homes across two buildings  with a gym, communal spaces and social areas.

Planned site of the scheme.

The one-bed and two-bed apartments are a joint venture between Bloc and the Canal & Rivers Trust, who currently own land to the west of the site.

H20 Urban’s scheme would also see a linear public park along the line of the former Manchester, Bolton and Bury Canal, which plans to open up and restore the historic canal once funding is available.

Consultations on the proposal are now live for the community.

No social housing then? Typical! More apartments!
