Salford Red Devils face Catalans Dragons in a must-win game on the Super League’s final day to keep any chance of a play-off campaign alive.

The Reds sit level with Warrington Wolves on 26 points, with a far inferior goal difference.

Paul Rowley’s side have to win against the Perpignan side, and hope that Huddersfield Giants take points away from Wire to reach the play-offs for the second season in a row.

Barring that, Salford would need to better Wire’s winning margin by 80 points or more, and set a Super League winning margin in the process, when Bradford Bulls beat the Reds 96-16 in 2000.

With their own fate out of their hands, the Red Devils face off against Catalans, who are looking to claim the League Leaders’ shield for the second time.

Catalans are in a three-way battle with Wigan and St Helens who are all on 38 points, and currently sit second in the table.

With the top two finishers recieving a bye in the first round of the playoffs, meaning the Dragons will be hungry to take a victory tonight.

Red Devils go into the match without King Vuniyayawa, who was handed a two-game suspension after a hip drop tackle on Matt Parcell during the Hull KR game.

It will also be the last game for James Greenwood, who departs the club at the end of the season, alongside Rhys Williams who is not named in the squad.

The Dragons have lost three of the last five games between the sides, but claimed a 42-0 victory at Stade Gilbert Brutus in July.

The clash is also Sam Tomkins’ last-ever regular season Rugby League game, with the full-back retiring at the end of the season.

The match kicks off at 8pm tonight, at the AJ Bell Stadium. The team is offering a shuttle bus service from the Trafford Centre which departs every 15 minutes from 6pm.
