Salford City defender has been named in the Sky Bet League Two team of the week, despite the defeat to Harrogate Town on the weekend.

Despite the devastating defeat conceding in the 80th minute that now leave the Ammies 21st in the league, the centre-back was able to get himself on the scoresheet.

The defender was able to do that in spectacular fashion, with Matt Smith’s looping header met by an unexpected bicycle kick that went into the bottom corner.

And with Matt Smith’s header being on the other side of halftime drew the Ammies level going into the final half hour of the game.

Unfortunately, a goal from former Rochdale winger Abraham Odoh on 80 minutes put the game to bed as he slotted low past Cairns to finish off an emphatic counter attacking move.

Tilt’s inclusion in the team of the week is a small positive to take from what has been a bleak few weeks for the Ammies, losing all of their last five games.

Neil Wood fielded a young side for the game against Harrogate with teenager Liam Humbles starting on the right-hand side and fellow academy players, Djavan Pedro and Marcus Dackers also appearing from the bench.

With the Salford manager describing his recent squad rotation as a “juggling act,” ahead of his sides cup tie tonight, where Tilt should be expected to feature.

And sitting just a point above the relegation places, it is paramount that Wood turns his side’s fortunes around and will be looking towards his star defender to be effective against the Premier League opposition.
