A new council-funded playground has opened in Salford.
Children and councillors gathered for a ribbon-cutting ceremony as Brookhouse Playing Fields were opened to the public.
The new playground features a wide range of equipment aimed at encouraging active and imaginative play.
It includes an accessible wheelchair roundabout, a cocowave pendulum swing, a rocket roller, a stainless steel slide and a penta climber.
Councillor Tracy Kelly, Statutory Deputy City Mayor and Lead Member for Housing and Anti-Poverty, said: “This project reflects the heart of what we are striving for with spaces that bring neighbours together, support children’s development and strengthen community bonds.
“Brookhouse has always been a cherished part of local life, and this new playground ensures it remains a place where families can gather, play and feel proud of their area.
“It’s about investing in people, in connection and in the wellbeing of everyone who calls this community home.”

Councillor Mishal Saeed, Executive Support Member for Social Care and Mental Health at Salford City Council said: “Playgrounds are more than just places to have fun, they’re where children can make friends, stay active, and enjoy the outdoors and a healthy lifestyle.
”Residents had raised the need for this vital facility for children in the area and we’re proud to see this key manifesto pledge delivered for our residents and thank all the parents who wrote to us.
“This project reflects the spirit of collaboration and community pride, and we’re grateful to everyone who helped make it happen.”
