Two people from Salford have been jailed as part of an organised crime group that supplied class A and class B drugs across Greater Manchester.
Germane Tarrant, 33, and Letitia Sandys, 40, both of Salford, were sentenced alongside two other members of the group at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court. The four defendants admitted a series of drug offences in January this year. That had been due to be the start of a five-week trial.
Tarrant was convicted of conspiracy to supply class A and class B drugs. He was sentenced to nine years and 10 months. Sandys was found to have taken part in the group’s activities and was jailed for two years and three months.
Two other men were convicted of conspiracy to supply class A and class B drugs. Together the four were jailed for a combined total of more than 25 years.
On 3 July 2025, officers carried out a series of warrants at addresses linked to the group. They recovered cannabis and cocaine worth more than £25,000, along with drug paraphernalia and several mobile phones. Tarrant and Griffin were remanded in custody as a result.
Police said the overall scale of the group’s operation during the investigation was estimated at around £462,000 for cannabis and £271,000 for cocaine.
Det Sgt Samuel Barr, of the Trafford Challenger team, said organised crime groups undermined public safety and trust in communities. “We are committed to disrupting and dismantling OCGs to protect our communities and keep people safe from the harms associated with organised crime,” he said.
“I hope today sends a clear message that we will not tolerate organised crime and the exploitation of vulnerable people by those criminals. We will not stop until we have brought them to justice.”
