The search has begun for a new Salford RLFC head coach after Mike Grady left the role by mutual agreement.
Grady took charge of the newly reformed club’s men’s team on 5 January and led the team to their first league and cup wins.
But he has now decided to leave, following discussions with the board and after a change in his personal circumstances.
Assistant coach Dave Hewitt will take charge of first-team duties on an interim basis.
The club confirmed their search for a new head coach has already begun and said that they aim to “make an appointment as quickly as possible to maintain stability and continue the team’s growth.”
In a statement, the club said it was “Forever indebted to Mike for his unwavering commitment,” adding: “We want to thank him for all his hard work since taking on the role as head coach in very challenging circumstances.”
Grady said: “What we created at the start of the year was pretty special and I’m proud to have built that.
“I’m happy to leave the club in a better place than I found it and wish the club all the best for the future.”

Grady was appointed just 11 days before Salford RLFC began their Championship season against Oldham and was instrumental in the rapid rebuild which saw the club recruit a squad from scratch ahead of the game.
He was on the touchline as Salford beat amateur side Hammersmith Hills Hoists 42-10 in the Challenge Cup and celebrated with supporters after leading his team to a 29-18 victory over Hunslet in the Championship in February.
Salford chief executive Ryan Brierley said: “Mike came in as coach at a time when the club had just come through one of its toughest times, with the double impact of relegation and liquidation.
“Mike will always be remembered as the person who strived and achieved the objective of sending out the first Salford team of this new era.”
