Aspire Care and Support Wins Prestigious Heart of Salford Awards

Only three days remain to submit your nominations for the 2026 Heart of Salford awards, with this Friday’s deadline fast-approaching, as Salford CVS look to crown their volunteers for the last calendar year.

These prestigious awards, which have been taking place since 2003, will commence in Wednesday the 3rd of June. Plenty of accolades are up for grabs with a full list of volunteering categories listed below:

– Volunteer of the Year award 
– Young Volunteer of the Year award (under 25) .
– Heart of the Community long-service award .
– Volunteering Team of the Year award
– Community Champion (Centenary edition)

Salford CVS will create short films of each nominee explaining who they are and what they have done for the community in Salford. These films will be played at the final ceremony, where the attendees will be able to vote for who they think should win the prize for each category.

VCSE Organisation of the Year (large) 

Open to larger VCSE organisations (with a turnover of over £100,000) who are making a real difference in Salford

VCSE Organisation of the Year (small) 

Open to smaller VCSE groups and organisations (with turnover of under £100,000) who are making a real difference in Salford

*When we talk about the VCSE sector we mean voluntary organisations, community groups, charities, the community work of faith organisations, and those social enterprises and community interest companies where there is a wider accountability to the public via a board of trustees or a membership and where any profits are reinvested in their social purpose.

Previous winners of these awards include The Swinton Lions Community Foundation, as well as Aspire and Salford Lads and Girls club.
