SIXTH tier Altrincham host Northern Premier League side Matlock Town in the fourth qualifying round of the 2016-17 FA Cup at Moss Lane on Saturday afternoon.

After a dominant 3-0 win over Morpeth Town in the last round, Altrincham will go into this fixture hoping to continue their run and reach the first round proper.

The hosts will be hoping that their only league victory of the season, a 2-0 win over Staybridge Celtic on Saturday, will help them to continue their good FA Cup run, starting with Matlock this weekend.

Altrincham have knocked out Gainsbourough Trinity and Morpeth Town to get to this round whilst Matlock have beaten Heanor Town, Kidsgrove Athletic and Workington AFC.

Alty’s most impressive victory came in the last round with a dominant 3-0 win over Morpeth Town at home.

Goals from Sean Miller, Simon Richman and Damien Reeves, who was making his 300th appearance for the club, ensured a well deserved spot in the fourth qualifying round.

With Matlock only losing once in their last five games, they will go into this fixture with confidence that they can beat the hosts, who play a league above them but currently sit third from bottom in their respective league.

Matlock sealed their place in the fourth round of qualifying with an impressive 3-1 win over Workington AFC, continuing their best FA Cup run for 27 years.

The visitors go into Saturday’s game on the back of an impressive 3-1 away win over Workington AFC, this time in the league, moving them to 11th in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier.
