Singletons in Salford can take part in a version of the Take Me Out gameshow and win a special date for two at Nando’s.
The event will take place on February 9th and run by Atmosphere Bar and Kitchen. It will take place at their venue which is located at Peel Park Campus.
Bar manager Andrew Court discussed that their version takes place just like the game hosted by Paddy McGuiness.
“We get a group of boys and girls who all take part, we have twelve contestants on the panel and one person who will come out and be the star of that round.
“We have four rounds and there are about 30 people who take place throughout, two groups of girls and two groups of guys.”

During the game the contestants who will be judging stand on the stage with a balloon which is essentially the buzzer they will use to vote themselves out of the rounds.
“In the first round the guy or girl will come out and if there is an initial attraction people will keep their balloons, but if they don’t they will pop their balloon.”
“They will then do more rounds like a talent round, and a round where the contestant will get to know the judges, hopefully, this allows more balloons to be popped and the number of choices to go down, and then like the show, the contestant will get their choice at choosing who they like.”
“The last one standing wins a date.”

The event is very popular with students from the university and they have sold out every year since Mr Court has been running the event.
“The crowds and contestants love it, it’s a great night out, and hopefully people can find love from it!”
The show will be hosted by Tony Murphy who also hosts quiz nights at Atmosphere, and is a favourite of Salford students and regulars at Atmosphere.
Ellen O’donoghue who is taking part in the event added: “I’m so nervous for the event and to be putting myself out there, but it’s also going to be so exciting and fun and I get to do it with my friends which makes it better! If I have a few drinks beforehand it will ease the nerves!”
