Deal or No Deal is to return to television screens later this year, with the revival of the show being filmed from dock10 in MediaCity UK, Salford. 

ITV have announced that Deal or No Deal will be returning for the first time since 2016 and that Stephen Mulhern will present the new version of the show.

Deal or No Deal was originally presented by Noel Edmonds on Channel 4 for 11 years, with the gameshow seeing contestants bid to win up to a quarter of a million pounds by selecting and eliminating boxes, each of which held a monetary value ranging from 1p to £250,000.

Furthermore, contestants would receive numerous offers from ‘the banker’ based off of their performance within the game.

The returning show will be filmed from MediaCity UK in Salford, with the recording of the new series taking place in dock10.

Produced by Banijay UK’s Remarkable Entertainment, filming for the show is expected to take place in July, with applications currently open for the new series.

In a statement, Katie Rawcliffe, Head of Entertainment commissioning said: “Deal or No Deal is such an iconic format and we are delighted that it will be joining the ITV family.

“Stephen’s infectious warmth and wit mixed with his natural rapport with members of the public is the perfect combination for this much-loved TV series.”

Presenter of Catchphrase and Britain’s Got More Talent Stephen Mulhern announced on his Instagram page that he would be presenting the shows revival, and revealed his excitement at fronting the returning TV series.

“Deal or No Deal is coming back,” he told followers.

“I used to watch Deal or No Deal when I was growing up and I am now honoured to be the new host of the show,” Mulhern continued.

The TV presenter also revealed that the smash-hit series would return to TV screens on ITV and ITVX later this year.
