One person has died and another has been seriously injured in a crash at a Salford roundabout on New Year’s Eve.
The driver, a 48-year-old man, collided with a roundabout, which caused him to veer off the road. He sadly passed away at the scene, Greater Manchester Police confirmed.
The tragic crash occurred on Cadishead Way, a main road that runs through Irlam.
Officers were called to reports of a road traffic collision at 7:15am on Wednesday, 31 December 2025.
A 50-year-old woman who was the passenger in the car suffered serious injuries and has been taken to hospital.
Specially trained officers are supporting the man’s family, who have asked for their privacy to be respected at this difficult time.
Investigators have urged anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward and assist their investigation.
They are also keen to speak to anyone who may have any CCTV footage, including dashcam, mobile phone or Ring doorbell footage from the area in the moments leading up to the incident.
