Salford City’s partner charity has rebranded to match the League Two club’s new look.

Last season, the club’s supporters voted overwhelmingly to change the team’s primary home shirt colour back to orange, having played in red since the Class of 92 arrived in 2014.

77.1% of fans chose to roll back the years and reinstate orange as the club’s primary colour for the upcoming season – and preparations are well underway to ensure the makeover is complete in time for the club’s opening game.

The change came after Gary Neville and David Beckham completed a takeover of the club in May 2025 as part of a new consortium which bought out the rest of the Class of 92.

It will see Peter Cklamovski’s side turn out in Orange kits, featuring a “rampant Lion” rebranded crest in pre-season.

Meanwhile, Peninsula Stadium has been given a lick of orange paint as the club moves away from the red colours that have become associated with non-league promotion glory and years of League Two stagnation.

Foundation 92, the club’s affiliate charity, has been renamed the Salford City FC Foundation as part of the wider rebrand.

The Salford City FC Foundation’s new branding.

The organisation works to support communities to improve their lives through sport and education projects with an emphasis on positive physical and mental wellbeing.

It said the rebrand “reflects a strengthened alignment with Salford City” and will better represent “the relationship between club and community.”

The charity has committed to continue delivering its education and employability, health and wellbeing and community engagement projects under its new orange guise.

Martin Ingham-Griffith, CEO of the Salford City FC Foundation, said: “Football clubs have a unique ability to bring people together and create a sense of pride and belonging within their communities, regardless of what happens on the pitch on a Saturday afternoon.

“The role of a football club charity is to ensure that connection goes far beyond the game itself, creating opportunities, supporting wellbeing and helping people feel part of something positive and meaningful.

Salford City completes first summer signing
New signing Joe Powell was the first Salford player to be unveiled in the club’s orange and black training gear.

“The Class of ’92 will always be an incredibly important part of our story and the legacy they have helped create through Foundation 92 is something we are hugely proud of. Their vision and commitment have helped build strong foundations that have made a real difference to communities across Salford and beyond.

“As we transition to Salford City FC Foundation, there is also a real sense of excitement about the future. This new identity reflects the deep connection between the football club and the community we serve and gives us an opportunity to continue growing our impact, reaching more people and ensuring the club remains a source of pride both on and off the field.”

Gavin Fleig, CEO of Salford City FC, said: “This summer is a landmark moment for Salford City Football Club as we transition into our new identity, and it has provided a natural opportunity for us to re-align with the Foundation.

“After a period of change and growth across both organisations, this alignment brings us back together and, under a distinctive new identity, we hope to create a symbol that represents opportunity and achievement to the people of Salford for the future.

“As a club with community at its heart, this alignment is fundamental in helping us to achieve our objectives, and we are excited to see the impact that we can deliver in Salford through outreach and engagement opportunities.”
