Two men have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man died following a fall from a balcony in Salford.
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) were called to an address in Liverpool Street shortly after midnight on Saturday 29 August.
A man was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries and died on Monday evening.
A man initially arrested on suspicion of attempted murder has now been rearrested on suspicion of murder, while a second man has also been arrested on suspicion of murder. Both remain in police custody for questioning.
A Home Office post-mortem examination is scheduled to take place today.
Ch Insp Lee Gridley, from GMP’s Salford district, said: “Our thoughts remain with the man’s family and friends as they grieve the death of their loved one.
“We now have two men in custody, and they are being questioned by detectives.
“The investigation is progressing at pace, and we have a team of detectives working to establish the full circumstances that led to this tragic incident.”
He added that officers believed it was an isolated incident with no wider risk to the public.
Detectives have appealed for witnesses or anyone with mobile phone, CCTV, doorbell or dashcam footage from the Liverpool Street area around the time of the incident to contact police on 101, quoting log 8 of 29/08/2026.
