JOSE Mourinho was humiliated on his return to Chelsea as his former club blew Manchester United away with a 4-0 victory.

It wasn’t the ideal return for the ‘Special One’ suffering his heaviest ever managerial defeat in the Premier League.

While it was one of Mourinho’s worst defeats it wasn’t the first time he has been on the wrong end of a humiliating result.

We take a look back at 5 of Jose’s biggest defeats:

Premier League (18TH May 2015) – West Bromwich 3 – 0 Chelsea

While Chelsea had already secured the Premier League and West Brom were guaranteed safety the result had no major significance for either side but the intensity of the game didn’t reflect that.

West Brom inflicted a third league defeat on Champions Chelsea as they ran out 3-0 winners. Berahino opened the scoring for the Baggies before Chelsea’s Cesc Fabregas was given a straight red for kicking the ball at West Brom’s Chris Brunt.

It was all one-way traffic from there as Berahino scored again to net himself a brace and take his goal tally for the season to 14, sparking speculation around an England call up.

Brunt bagged a third for West Brom with a trademark left footed rocket to cap off a good day for the Baggies.

Champions League (April 24th 2013) – Borussia Dortmund 4 – 1 Real Madrid

Robert Lewandowski produced a sensational performance scoring four goals in the first leg of a Champions League encounter between Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund back in 2013.

Dortmund dominated the game from start to finish and was unlucky to see Lewandowki’s early goal cancelled out by Cristiano Ronaldo’s 50th goal in Europe’s finest competition.

The sides went in level at half time but it was all about one man in the second half, Robert Lewandowski.

Five minutes into the second half Klopp’s men were back in front with a second goal from the Pole.

It wasn’t long before Lewandowski grabbed himself a hat-trick with a tidy turn and thunderous finish to give Dortmund a two-goal cushion.

The referee awarded a penalty when Alonso brought down Reus in the 67th minute and Lewandowski converted to complete a historic night in the Champions League for Borussia Dortmund.

Premier League (August 16th 2015) – Manchester City 3 – 0 Chelsea

Manchester City laid down an early marker in the Premier League title race with a convincing three-nil victory over title contenders Chelsea.

The defeat completed a terrible week for Chelsea manager after the controversy surrounding demotion of medical staff member Eva Carneiro.

Sergio Aguero gave the hosts a deserved lead on the half an hour mark.

City never looked like conceding, with Chelsea not attacking with any real intention.

Captain Vincent Kompany made the three points safe in the 85th minute header before Fernandinho scored the third for Man City. A result for Mourinho that seen the start of his demise as Chelsea manager.

Premier League (February 11th 2006) – Middlesbrough 3 – 0 Chelsea

Chelsea crashed to a first Premier League defeat since early November as a struggling Boro side ran out worthy three-nil winners.

The hosts went one nil up after just 78 seconds when Fabio Rochemback capitalised on some lazy defending.

Middlesbrough extended their lead deep into first-half stoppage time when Stuart Downing’s effort miraculously ended up in the back of the net.
Yakubu scored Boro’s third late on in the second half, muscling his way passed John Terry and slotting the ball into the bottom right corner.

This was Mourinho’s heaviest defeat in his first reign at Chelsea and the result came at more of a surprise considering up until this match Chelsea had only conceded 13 goals all season.

La Liga  (November 29th 2010) – Barcelona 5-0 Real Madrid

The 5-0 defeat to arch rivals Barcelona came as a shock to everyone after Mourinho had enjoyed the greatest start to a season in the clubs history.

Xavi started the rout when Iniesta went on a winding run from deep in his own half before slotting the ball through for his fellow Spaniard who slotted home with an exquisite chip over on rushing goal keeper.

Two sublime Messi assists set up David Villa for goals three and four with Jeffran’s goals rubbing salt into Madrid wounds making it five.

Ramos’s stoppage time dismissal for a rash tackle on Lionel Messi piled misery upon Mourinho suffering his heaviest ever managerial loss.
