Ammies get impressive away victory against play-off chasing Harrogate Town.

Following a stagnated start, City began to get onto the front foot, eventually capitalising in the 37th minute thanks to Matt Lund who couldn’t miss at the back post thanks to Ibou Touray’s fine cross.

City started the second half where they left off in the first, as Touray fired over the bar shortly before Morris was denied by an excellent block by the Town defender.

Following some early changes from Harrogate, they began to regain the momentum and were only denied an equaliser by the retreating Touray who cleared of the line, as he continued to impress at both ends of the pitch.

Despite the flurry of pressure from the hosts, some patient play from City was rewarded with a second goal as Jason Lowe’s driven effort find the bottom left hand corner, doubling The Ammies’ lead with 15 minutes to play.

City stepped it up following the second goal, and thought they had a third as Lund’s diving header found the net before being flagged offside.

The Ammies continued to control the game as they cruised to an important away victory with the bonus of a clean sheet, against a side fighting towards the top of the table.

The victory takes Gary Bowyer’s men up to 16th with just six points between The Ammies and the play-off places.
