A former supply teacher from Salford has pleaded guilty to a series of child sex offences, including taking more than 100 upskirt photos of pupils.
Abusali Rahman, 36, appeared over videolink at Bolton Crown Court from HMP Altcourse on Tuesday morning, where he admitted 21 offences, including upskirting in schools and sharing an indecent image of a child.
The British national of Bangladeshi ethnicity pleaded guilty to 12 counts of taking indecent photographs of children by upskirting, four counts of publishing an obscene article – namely posting an AI-generated sexualised images of a children on social media – three counts of making indecent photographs of children, one count of voyeurism and one count of distributing an indecent photograph of a child.
The court heard that the offences took place across seven high schools across Salford, Bury and Bolton between December 2023 and June 2025.
The charges relate to thirteen girls aged between 13 and 16 at the time of Rahman’s offending.
Greater Manchester Police confirmed that the victims were being offered ongoing specialist support.

Rahman, a British national of Bangladeshi ethnicity from Salford, will be sentenced on 1 September.
Emma Kehoe, defending, asked for a psychiatric report ahead of sentencing.
Ms Kehoe said: “Mr Rahman knows this is a prison sentence, but he was going through a mental health crisis at the time.”

He said: “We first received reports of Abusali Rahman’s suspected offending in March 2025 and he was arrested in June that year.
“The offences are alleged to have taken place in several secondary schools across the North West between December 2023 and 2025.
“The officers and staff working on this investigation, including our victim identification team, have put everything into building a case against Rahman and bringing the charges against him.
“This included our digital investigation unit which has analysed around 1,000 images over the past year.
DS France added: “Reports like this will cause understandable concern and anxiety in our school communities.
“However, throughout the investigation, young victims have been at the forefront of our enquiries and our decision-making. Protecting children remains our highest priority.”
He said police had been in contact with all the schools Rahman had worked at since he became a qualified teacher in 2023, and are continuing to follow up on leads across the North West.
