THE DRAW for the FA Cup fourth qualifying round took place live on TalkSport on Monday and as ever some interesting ties came out of the hat for our Football Live clubs.

The Vanarama National League’s MACCLESFIELD TOWN only have to negotiate one round of qualifying to get into the first round proper and they’ll make the trip to fellow fifth tier side North Ferriby United.

John Askey’s men beat the Villagers as recently as Saturday by one Danny Whitaker penalty to nil and played over 65 minutes with 10 men following John McCombe’s red card.

ALTRINCHAM have taken solace in the FA Cup this season after a poor start to their league campaign and their reward for wins over Gainsborough Trinity and Morpeth Town is another home tie with either Matlock Town or Workington AFC.

They meet again on Tuesday night following a 1-1 draw in Derbyshire on Saturday.

STOCKPORT COUNTY are another team with a third straight home draw in the FA Cup.

After disposing of local rivals Hyde United and Salford City (both by a 2-0 scoreline) they will now entertain the lowest ranked side left in the Northern side of the draw, step nine’s Bishops Auckland will be making the journey to Edgeley Park on Saturday October 15.

Jon Flanagan’s CURZON ASHTON were big winners on Saturday after the 4-0 demolition of Bedworth United and the Nash will relish a trip to York City in the fourth qualifying round.

The Minstermen were in the Football League as recently as last season and haven’t enjoyed the step down to Vanarama National League football so far, could there be a potential shock on October 15?

And finally it all looked rosy on Saturday for FC UNITED OF MANCHESTER, 3-1 up against Harrogate Town they will have expected to see the game out but a late revival from the visitors means they’ll do it all again in Yorkshire on Tuesday night.

Should Karl Marginson’s men complete the job they’ll have more White Rose opposition in the shape of FC Halifax Town with the first round of the FA Cup the prize for the victors.

Keep your eyes on Quays News for more updates from our local sides in the cup competition in the coming weeks.
