MANCHESTER United travel to Liverpool on Saturday as they hope to carry on their unbeaten run in the Premier League.

The 51st Premier League match-up between the two teams will no doubt be a hostile meeting, as Liverpool will be hoping to deny the Old Trafford club the chance to jump above Manchester City at the top of the table.

Liverpool, who are currently sat in 7th position, will be hoping for a famous win in front of their home crowd as they hope to reboot their season.

United go into the game full of confidence with the squad in free-flowing form, having scored three or more goals in seven games this season.

This could be a worry for the Liverpool defence as they remain to be questioned over their recent performances.

After a recent ankle scare Romelu Lukaku missed out on international action with Belgium over the weekend but has been given the all clear for this weekend’s game at Anfield.

United will be without Paul Pogba, who is out for the foreseeable future, and Marouane Fellaini, who recently suffered a knee ligament injury during the international break.

The last time Lukaku scored against Liverpool was back in 2012 whilst he was on loan with West Bromwich Albion from Chelsea.

Liverpool will be without Sadio Mané, who is out for up to 6 weeks with a hamstring injury, but the home side will have Phillipe Coutinho back and hopefully in-form as he looks to restore the faith of the Liverpool fans after he requested to leave the club in the summer.

Nothing could split the two sides last season with a 0-0 draw at Anfield in October and a late Zlatan Ibrahimović header securing a point for the Red Devils back in February.

The last time United picked up all three points from their rivals was back in January 2016 with a late Wayne Rooney header.

United fans are confident ahead of the game this weekend after a two week international break.

Michael Sullivan, 28, who has worked for the Red Issue fan magazine stated that the attacking options that United have got has given the team confidence going in to the clash.

Jose Mourinho will travel to Anfield with an impressive record over the hosts, only losing there once and winning eight times throughout his Premier League managerial career.

He has faced Juergen Klopp on seven previous occasions stretching back to their tenures at Borussia Dortmund and Real Madrid respectively.

Mourinho can also set a new record for himself if his United side can keep yet another clean sheet this season which will overtake his Chelsea side which they set back in the 2004/05 season.

United’s defence will be tested on Saturday by a Liverpool team who have only failed to score in one of their last nine PL matches.

Liverpool v Manchester United will kick-off at 12:30pm on Saturday October 14 and will be live on Sky Sports and BBC Radio 5 Live.
