Foundation 92 wrapped and delivered over 700 Christmas presents to doors in Salford yesterday (December 19).

Salford City FC’s official charity had a special rollout of extra presents in their ‘December to Remember’ campaign due to an increased demand for their service this year.

Volunteers gathered at Salford Lads Club in the afternoon before setting off in their Foundation 92 van that was bursting with gifts ready to hand deliver to the community.

Damon Traverse, Head of Media at Foundation 92, said: “I think it’s massively important because everyone’s had a tough year with the cost of living and the gas going up.

“So it’s really important to support the community this time of year by giving them presents so they can then focus on spending their money on things like heating and food.”

Each year the charity picks different areas to deliver to in Salford and Greater Manchester and has been a “great success” so far.

Damon added: “I think people have seen the good that we’re doing in terms of the programme and people want to get involved, this year we’ve had a lot more volunteers want to come and help.

“So it’s just grown and grown each year.”

This, however, is not the only admirable charitable act Foundation 92 has done recently. Earlier this month they donated £3,000 worth of breakfast goods to Salford Foodbank.

Donna Hennessy, Head of Education at Foundation 92, added: “Supporting the Community in this way is what the Foundation is all about! Our missions and values are to serve the community in whatever way it needs.
