Brenthall Academy in higher Broughton, Salford, has been crowned as “flourishing” by latest Ofsted report.
The school’s shining transformation in recent years is a credit to the academy and its latest Ofsted report.
The school joined United Learning in 2023 and has its first inspection in June, under the new Oftsted inspection framework. Inspectors judged that the school met a ‘strong standard’ in three of the seven criteria’s.
The school was measured within the following; Inclusion, leadership, governance, personal development and wellbeing.
The school achieved the ‘expected standard’ in the remaining four criteria.
Brenthall’s glowing report from the inspectors praised the school’s “very positive and upward path of continual improvement”, and cited the leadership’s “deep knowledge of high-quality primary education” as a key reason for why the school is “developing at pace”.
Julie Hiddleston, Director of Primary Education at United Learning, said: “This report reflects the significant transformation we know the school has undergone in recent years.
“The tireless work of leaders and staff has been met with enduring support from pupils and parents and I would like to congratulate the entire school community on this outcome.
It is fantastic to see the school receiving external recognition of its excellent progress which I am confident will only continue”, she added.
The report also highlighted that the “well thought-out” curriculum has combined with strong teaching for “steadily and markedly improving” academic results.
It is not just the inspectors praising the staff. The school’s pupils agreed that the “quality of teaching is a fundamental strength of the school”, and that Brenthall’s emphasis on inclusivity has meant all children feel safe and a sense of community.
Inspectors were likewise impressed with the school’s emphasis on character education and the range of opportunities, such as, trips and residentials around the country and ambassador and school councillor roles.
Ultimately, the inspectors judged that the school enables all pupils to “become caring, responsible, active citizens who are well prepared for their lives in modern Britain.”
The school is excited to welcome prospective pupils to Brentwood Academy on September 30, following its recent glowing Ofsted report.
